Mandatory Court Appearance

Only certain traffic violations are payable without an appearance in court. The following traffic and ordinance violations require a court appearance either in accordance with State law or by order of the Calverton Park Municipal Court Judge:

  • All non-traffic ordinance violations

  • Some animal violations (see fine and costs list)

  • All housing violations

  • Careless and imprudent driving (C and I)

  • Driving while intoxicated (DWI)

  • Driving while license suspended or revoked

  • Speeding 26 miles per hour or more over the speed limit

  • Speeding in a school zone

  • Operating a motor vehicle with no insurance
